Artist Dimos Malkoff
Born in 1973
Uzbekistan, Russia
Artist Dimos Malkoff began drawing at the age of twenty five, suddenly displaying a phenomenal artistic acumen straight after a sudden death of his farther, a famous artist from Bukhara. During his childhood, Dimos was apprenticed by his farther Firs Malkoff, but never planned to choose an artist career. “My farther gave me my first lessons in understanding art,” says the artist, “but never insisted on my artist profession”. Dimos experimented with several arts like music and film script and later began painting in oils, studying American Action Painting, Russian Avant-garde and European Art Union Cobra, what appeal to him mostly.
He began entering his paintings in art exhibitions in Bukhara and started his professional career as an artist, publishing his work and receiving commissions from his friends, relatives and later studios of British Council Uzbekistan, Swiss Development Fund and numerous private collectors.
Dimos also exhibited his work in galleries and museums throughout the country and participated in his first international exhibition in St.Moriz, Switzerland, in January 2006, what brought him even wider recognition.
Many of his paintings can be found in the private collections around the world.
